A common starting ratio is 1:16 by weight — about 15 g of ground coffee to 250 g (250 ml) of water for one cup. Adjust to taste: less water (e.g. 1:15) is stronger, more (1:17) is milder. Weighing beans is far more consistent than measuring by volume, since grind size changes how much fits in a scoop.
