The “rebuildable or it’s a second database of record” framing is exactly why I stopped trusting our old denormalised tables. We couldn’t regenerate them, so nobody dared touch them.

Finished “The Goal” finally. It’s a novel about a factory and somehow the best software delivery book I’ve read. Bottlenecks move; optimise anything but the constraint and you just build inventory faster.
