If your TypeScript has more `as` casts than tests, the compiler isn’t helping you — you’re overruling it. Every cast is a little note that says “trust me” and future-you will not.

The outbox finally clicked for me when I stopped thinking of it as a queue and started thinking of it as a durable log I happen to also push from. Nothing polls it, it just exists as truth.
