Moved the homelab off a single big server to two small ones and my uptime went UP. Turns out “everything on one box” isn’t simplicity, it’s a single point of failure wearing a simplicity costume.

The homelab rule I wish I’d learned earlier: label every cable the day you plug it in. Future-you at 1am with a flashlight is not smarter than present-you with a label maker.

Self-hosted my own bookmarks this weekend to “own my data” and have so far spent four hours owning a YAML file. Would recommend, mostly for the character growth.
